Install EF81 themes by cable

Installing themes with data cable

Since it is not possible to install Themes for the SXG75/ EF81 on normal way by data cables so far, here is a guide which helps you sort it out.

Needed software
* BitPIM
* The theme you want to install (e.g. from themes.modopo.com)

Step-to-Step Guide

* Start BitPIM and make a connection to the mobile - Make hidden files visible
* Now go to the following directory: brew\mod\cmgr\pp
* Make a new folder in the map structure. In addition you mark the folder pp in the map tree. Now "right-click - Make subdirectory...". You call this folder thm
* In the folder thm you now make a folder usr the same way as just described
* Now we are in this directory: brew\mod\cmgr\pp\thm\usr
* Over "right-click - new file..." you now insert the *.sdt file into the file system
* Restart your mobile phone and your theme is installed

tnx to iver that translated this from german, and m@dmax who corrected it

hey guys,

i need a little bit of help, this is my first time using bitpim, so i downloaded the program 0.9.07 or something like that which is the only one I could find. Anyways after I have installed it, I dont know what to do to open the phones file system etc.

I've connected the phone via usb port, and I've also ran the settings by browsing the com port, I clicked on Benq-Siemens mobile phone under available ports, and it seems to look ok, I press ok, and nothing happens, and I cant seem to get it started.

what do i do?

Thanks!

FW58 German. I transferred 3 themes. They installed but did not appear.

:(

I transferred them via bluetooth and then restarted the phone.

ooo good job sandstorm ...works for mee too :D
Just one thing...i used BMC to do this (cause BitPim doesn't detect my phone, don't know why..) and works fine , but after i restart the phone , the directory created brew/mod/cmgr/pp/thm/usr dissapers for some reason , and to upload a new theme i have to creat it again ...

but no problem , cause i found that i can send multiple themes at once , not just one at a time ..hihi

anyway thx a lot SS...

YEP! :D

anyway, when this post was made, we didn't had yet the BMC, so, BitPim is outdated now, as BMC is much more faster, and smaller :)
