Install Java without PC! (NEW)

Install Java without PC! (NEW)

Postby vandal985 » Thu May 24, 2007 6:57am

Java in that phone as unknown file...
If use wap or internet gprs it can be expansive...
I don't know how i do it, but it really work! :)
1. After you get some *.jar file via bluetooth it automatically save in Misc/.
2. Than need to rename this file in more simply name. For example 'file'.
3. Than go to your phone wap browser! And make new bookmark with any name and this link:
file:/user/Miscellaneous/file.jar
Save this bookmark.
4. Now you can install this app by click to it bookmark!
5. That's all!

Don't delete this bookmark, just rename all *.jar files after download by bluetooth to 'file'!
After install your file.jar in Misc/ folder will stay there. For install new app or game you can del it or rename or put in another folder.
Here is bookmark for example.
Rename it from txt to url and you can download it to phone.
Sorry for my bad English :)
Good luck!

EF91 is a completely different phone, this tip won't work.
But what can work, is by using the same procedures as for S81 [load them]

for installing games, you need both JAD and JAR files. anyway, the easy way, is using BMC for installing them, or JMI :P

Although it's a bigger download, BMC is way better than JMI because it can auto-create JAR files and do many other phone-related stuff.

Where do I get this BMC???
I'm using JMI on my EF81 and it doesn't work for some reson, even if I have a JAD file it won't install anything...It copies it to the phone, I reset it and then it "installs" when the phone starts, but there is nothing in the phone.....
a fan.

This might mean that the application/game you are trying to install is incompatible with your phone. I experienced it once when I tried to install an app for P990 into my EF81 :P

Where do I get this BMC?

Welcome to the forum! :)

If I'm not mistaken, the method vandal985 gave is only for phones based on the BREW platform, which the EF51 isn't.
However, I tried sending a Java app (both JAR and JAD) via Bluetooth to my CF61 (which is based on the same platform as the EF51), and it showed up on the Games menu without any further effort.

hi!
what is your phone model?

since you have them online, you need to have the gprs\3g service fully configured and working.
you place the full adress of th ejad file. (www.mylink.com/game.jad)

also, you need to open the jad file, and have it edited inside, to allow it to link to the host you got.
in alternative, you can try to write the full jar address to see if goes. (www.mylink.com/game.jar)

depending from the phone, installing to memory card might be restricted.
