you have no signal?
do you saved the NV files with the qpst?
if you did that upload the nv backup to the phone with QPST and you'll have the old settings with signal and all the stuffs.
cheers and respect dude.
oh by the way.what phone do you have?

Well, Those E81 NV files have been used for EF81 users, and helped them in some issues.
Still, i dare to say it is 99,8% compatible. E81 is more similar to EF81 in many stuff rather than SXG75 for example (number of cameras)

Still, the best would be with another EF81 NV files. (Only got NV items for E81, SXG75, SL91 and SFG75)

Hi everyone. I've just registered and already have a doubt to post LOL I've recently bought a EF81 but it has the 48 firmware. I know you'll advise me to go for the 58 and with all the information around here it shouldn't be that difficult, but the problem is: is there any FW58 with portuguese language? I can't find the answer anywere and I really want to install it 'cause I have the following problems:

- When I charge the battery with the mobile off, i open the shell, plug the cable in and it shows "When charged, mobile turns on automatically" and the screen goes off. 30secs later, it turns on and askes me for the PIN. I have to close the clamshell for it to appear "Charging" again. Is that normal? Does it continues charging if I let it on the PIN screen? Even if it's not saying "Charging"? 'Cause it goes for the PIN screen and it doesn't say if it's charging or not, i have to close it to see the message, and I don't want to screw my battery, findind one these days is getting harder.

- I've noticed that there are more guys with the same image loading problem that I have, I mean, there are some images that, when I try to view, it shows "File too big" or sometimes "Media cannot be processed". Will this be solved with the new firmware?

- The last, I've done a master reset. I guess it asked for a new code or something and I put the same as my pin card. Some days after, I needed to do a master reset again but I didn't remeber the code looool I tried three times I guess. After, it said insert mastercode, probably because I've inserted 3 wrong codes, but the stupid thing is that I remembered the real code immediatly after but now I can't put it cause it only let me insert the mastercode -.- With the firmware update will I get at least one more shot to try? LOL

- The menu speed. This one I know it will get improved. In this EF81 of mine, sometimes is terribly slow, sometimes is incredibly fast, I just don't get my mobile xD

BRD versions have portuguese.
is just a matter for you to get a BRD one.

Nope, normally a FW upgrade won't erase the locked phonecode...

Yes, there's always improvements in speed! :)

that "battery" behaviour is normal on my phones too. don't freak out. :)

firmware to use:

http://eh.student.utwente.nl/~landy/ind ... _SGLPK.zip

mobile
elibom

Extended information, how to upgrade EF81 with FW58:

-> remove mem cards
-> remove sim card.
-> take out the battery for 2 to 5 minutes
-> Start the updater
-> place back the battery
-> Turn the phone ON in the Download mode (you press # and keep it pressed while you turn the phone on. now, only the benq-siemens logo is show)
-> plug the phone
-> leave the lid closed
-> press "start" and follow the upgrade instructions.
-> after 10 minutes, it is done.

but before that, do this to be safe:

good luck.

Yes, I've done everything right. It connects to the mobile, but then shows that error. Does that have anything to do with that mastercode thing I've told you about? I've introduced (when trying to reset my mobile) the code 3 times wrong and then it started to ask me for the mastercode, perhaps that's the problem?! But if it is, it would be way risky to upgrade the firmware without doing the backup of my NV files, and that I'll not do, 'cause I don't wanna screw my mobile, it's very rare and unlike to have one Siemens / BenQ-Siemens nowadays... And I like it very much of course xD

but it can stay idle at the pin code window? if yes, then connect it to BMC and navigate to "brew/mod/idle/res/common" and delete the "idle_common.bar"

The phone must start normally now, after one manual turn off\on

hi
when I try to turn on my phone, it shows Benq-Siemens logo and then disapear and then over and over it repats.
my phone doesn't stay idle at the pin code menu and can not connect with BMS because of it.
what can I do?

:wink:
neither with the phone completely off? ;)
just plug the, if he starts and do the random thing, long press th e"red button" and he will shut down, appearing the text "charging".
Around 2 to 3h, it is charged.

Obviously you need to download to your computer one of those files.
And thenm run the updater in your computer.
This is good, because you can update many phones with that file, even in computers not connected to the internet.
Why? Because the file have all the needed stuff.

Unlike some SE phones, you know?
:lol: Those Sony Ericsson phones can be updated with a tool named "Seus", who downloads the file from the internet.

Well, it's just a bit extra info I'm giving you, let just focus on your phone. :)
