EF-81 SVN 0?

EF-81 SVN 0?

Postby phonenoob » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:45am

Hey guys,

I got myself an EF-81 off dodgE-BAY, my phone came in a T-mobile box however the phone has Vodafone on the battery cover.

I have punched in *#06# and I get no variant name and the SVN is 0, my phone does have the Google icon so does this mean it is on V58 already?

Cheers.

SVN0?
what a mess you got there!
or it is a very early version (used on FK devices), or any upgrade done by the previous owner ran badly.
on BREW enabled siemens and benq-siemens, SVN is the firmware version.

Yeah I don't know whether to try and upgrade the firmware or not, it seems a bit quicker than my SX1 from many moons ago and the EF-81 only crashed a few times on the day I got it.

Also are all of these phones full of Star Wars themes and clips?

no, not all.
i think FW58 don't have that theme anymore.
well, if your imei starts with 0044, have sample, or prototype stickers on the back, then it might be a proto.

brew version is the same for all. :)
anyway, sometimes, trying to update a prototype with a final release FW, will f**k it out.
so, if it is running ok and so, let us keep it that way.

OK cheers Sanstorm, I'll leave it as is.

I like this so much better than my Viewty, it's about to go under a hydraulic press at work. The first Viewty didn't have a working ear speaker and the second one had a faulty touch screen.

Well my phone died a sad death, I had it inside my jacket which was on the ground and water ran in through the hood and made my phone go for a swim. It still functions but the screen just stays black.

So, what do you do? Buy a brand new SK65, got it for $70AU posted and it is a pre BenQ model unlike my last one, however the screen res seems a bit lower than the BenqSiemens model.

It depends on what you want it for.

The SK65 has a QWERTY keyboard, a more mature software, and a much stronger organiser, but has a lower resolution screen (132x176 vs. 240x320), and lacks camera, UMTS, card slot and music player.
