Although this was an option on all the other s60 phones Siemens disabled it to SX1 (at least on firm. prior to 0 mainly for MMC swaping reasons. But there is a way to enable it. First download and install MsvDriveE.sis . After running it once the app will change the drive for saving messages from C to E and copy some files from C:\system\mail to E:\system\mail but not all (you have to copy the rest yourself using a 3rd party File Manager). Any Messages saved to an MMC from another s60 phone will be also readable. Be carefull though not to run the app again because you'll end up with an error message and may the messages stored to MMC be lost. Also do not remove the MMC when the phone is on. To undo the app changes just restart the phone without the MMC. BE WARNED THAT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS APP.

Q.how can i know that the MSVdriveE is running???

when you run it once if you don't remove your MMC card and turn the phone on the MSVdriveE is always on
but if you remove your MMC card and turn on the phone you must run it once the MMC card is insered again

a little trick to know if it's on or off
create a new mailbox in your messages name it anything for example MSVdriveE when your MSVdriveE is off to turn it off take out your MMC,turn on the phone and then put on the MMC card and like this the MSVdrive is off once you created the mailbox run the MSVdrive only once.

now the trick if you are not sure if it's on or off goto Messeges if you see there's a mailbox with the name that you created above this means it's off then run it once if not then it's on
voilą
and there's another way you install SmartLauncher on your phone
when the smartlauncher is on, press the Menu key and hold it (running apps menu) and you'll see a program without unknown icon (skyblue square) with the name "???" this is the MSVdriveE if it doesn't exist that means it's off

Hi,
I downloaded the MSVDriveE and installed it on my SX1.But I found that the messages that was original on the phone went missing.Later I power-up the phone without the mmc the messages were back.Is it normal?By the way I understand that for the nokia 6600 there's an option to let you choose whether to use the phone memory or the mmc for saving messages, will I have this option when I install the MSVDriveE?

Thanks for any response that I can get.

Hi Wael,
Thanks for the reply.I found that there is a square with an arrow pointing upwards on the top middle of the screen when I install MSVDriveE.This is the same symbol when I'm sending message and will disappear once the message has been sent. But when I installed the MSVDriveE the symbols does not go away.Any way to make this symbol disappear when the message is sent.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Pete,
Did you check that the message is successfully sent? Sometime the message is put into deferred folder due to network error and is waiting for your action.(this is where the box with the upright arrow symbol is present)

Once installed, only ran this app ONCE.
And is better to not use the hot-swap function, because this program still running and can riun your messages too.
It is all explained on Gandalf's posts Smile
