|
|
Hey guys! It's me again!
Well, here goes. I have an old S46 that I am trying to unlock. I have a nice version of SST-GSM that I paid for and the unlock cable set. I have successfully used this software to unlock many A56, CT56, C61, and CF62T phones already, so I know that this software is working good.
The problem is that I don't know how to get my S46 into service mode. When I hit the unlock button or the read info button, it tells me to power on the phone. When I do the phone just comes on and the program doesn't do anything. This is EXACTLY the same thing that the CF62T(s) used to do until I figured out the proper test point procedure. I can't find anything on the net that will help me out. One of my test point guides says that the S46 doesn't require a test point.
I am very confused, but I need to unlock this phone. Can someone help me out please? Are there any siemens masters left that can go old school for this one?
Thanks!

S46, isn't that one that looks like one C35 with fresh body?
Yes, that phone was designed for US market. Now i am unsure, but i think this phone runs on P35 platform, but, like i said i am not sure...
SST toolbox, the cracked version shall work.
what version do you use?
Anyway, you already know the basis for unlocking them.
Battery charged, phone turned off. Once you clock on 'read' press briefly the phone power button. do not let it pushed untill switching the phone on!
Another issue, did you unlocked any other lumberg phone with that cable? because from the phones you said, you only did the job to slim lumberg phones.
Are you sure that cable is a unlocker\flasher cable? it won't do with a original cable. (even if some oldies did)
But, nothing is lost anyway! You can try the same i did on my C25 and S25 (they needed bartek tool, and windows 98 os, since i got none of those os now) i used one unlocking sim i place below my sim-card. _________________ Feel the storm power

I am using SST Service Toolbox Professional Edition 5.32
It gives me the option to do the S46, but when I set everything up it never goes into service mode. I press the power button and the phone comes on.
If anyone has any service information on this phone it would be greatly appreciated. As I said before, I have been scouring the internet and I can't find anything.
I am using a 6 in 1 cable unlock set. The slim lumberg cable works fine when I plug that end into the main hub where the 9v battery for flash plugs in. I just can't get anything from the S46 (S35) cable. I even unlocked another CT56 just to make sure that everything is working and it is.
Somebody please help!
I do have one of the unlocker chips that rides under the sim card in it but I want to sell the phone to a friend and he doesn't want to deal with that extra issue.
Thanks again for all of the help.

Well, it didn't work...
I am happy to have the newer cracked version of the SST, though, so I thank you for that!
I was looking in an old service manual for the S46 and it shows the factory tech using a program called winsui. It looks like the same type of program as SST but older. Anyway, there is an "S" button on that console to put the phone in service mode before you disable the locks.
Of course, there is no "S" button on our SST.
So now, I am back to the beginning. All of the SST stuff says that it supports S46 but I have no way of determining how to put this phone into service mode. Pressing the power button just turns the phone on.
I guess I will have to buy an unlock cable next and try that instead of my 6 in 1 cable set. Oh, well....
By the time I am done unlocking this phone, I will have too much money in it to sell it! Ha ha!
I guess that once I figure this out I will feel as if I have climbed a mountain!
Once again, thanks for all of the help so far. _________________ 3xCF62/1xCF75/1xEF81 All GSM |

That is a NICE test point setup! Those are the best pictures I have seen yet! Thank you for that!
Of course, the stupid S46 phone that I have says "no test point" when you hit the button!
Well, I ordered the new cable so I will try again when it arrives. It looks like the one piece unlock cable does not use a plug in 9v battery like my other cables. Maybe because the phone is so old...
And yes, I only press the power button briefly and it does absolutely nothing. I have two S46 phones, one is already unlocked (got it that way) and the other is not. Neither one will register on the SST program with my lumberg cable.
I am now very sorry that I bought the 6 in 1 cable set. The slim lunberg cable works but you have to try powering up the phone to service mode 5 or 6 times before it will work. On my one piece cable it works great every time, the first time.
I guess I will live and learn, and hopefully my new one piece unlocking cable will do the trick. The one I bought was from the same guy who sold me the slim lumberg cable and it works like a champ.
Thanks again for everything! Now I will just wait on the mail to arrive... _________________ 3xCF62/1xCF75/1xEF81 All GSM |

Well, I finally got my one piece cable and now the phone is unlocked!! So, that is really the secret; you must have the proper cable and the all in one sets are no good.
Thanks for all the help so far, and I will be back again soon with more questions!
Just for anyone interested, to unlock the S46, you just need to plug it in with the proper cable and the charged battery. You don't even have to power it on for service mode. Once it is plugged in to the computer, you can read the info and unlock it without doing anything at all to the phone.
My friend took my other S46 so now my unlocked one is for sale on eBay, hahahaha!
Thanks again for all the help! _________________ 3xCF62/1xCF75/1xEF81 All GSM |

Believe it or not, it sold for over 23 dollars plus shipping.
I got this phone in a lot of broken Siemens phones that I bought a while back for less than 20 dollars. I fixed and sold 7 cf62 phones (after I unlocked them) so they have paid for all the unlocking software and cables so far!
I have some more S46 phones on the way and I will be doing the same with them. You would not believe how good these phones work over here in the war zone. This really was a great piece of hardware. It picks up all 4 cell phone providers here in Afghanistan with no problems whatsoever.
You interested in one for your Siemens museum? hahahah _________________ 3xCF62/1xCF75/1xEF81 All GSM |
